چکیده
For many years, medicinal plants have been a resource for healing in several local communities around the world and phytochemicals them such as flavonoids, alkaloids, phenolic, tannins, terpenoids are attributed to their values. Vernonia amydalina, Senna alata, Jatropha curcas, Grewia pubescens important with immense value. In this study, phytochemical screening, antioxidant analysis potential anti-hyperglycemic properties of was investigated in-vitro. The ethanol leave extracts were subjected qualitative screening tannin, flavonoids phenol quantification. Ferric reducing power DPPH radical inhibition done by spectrophotometric method while anti-diabetic analyzed through in-vitro α-amylase α-glucosidase inhibition. Phytochemicals detected four phenolics, terpenoids, steroids, cardiac glycosides, saponins. Flavonoids, phenols, tannin content highest alata (0.27±0.0.002 mg: mg rutin per g extract, 10.63±0.0.017 gallic acid 6.72±0.06 mg/g respectively) followed V. amygdalina (0.20±00.002 8.27±0.0.017 7.98±0.03 respectively). While least all found curcas. Concentration dependent statistically significant difference observed both FRAP extracts. showed strongest amygdalina. Both that is not significantly (p>0.05) different from trolox. also demonstrated concentration manner. inhibition, S. exhibited most inhibitory among plant overall result study suggested amygdalina, phytochemicals, activities source constituents might be useful management diseases diabetes.

detection of volatile compounds of medicinal plants with some nano-sorbents using modified or new methodologies and investigation of antioxidant activity of their methanolic extracts
in this work, a novel and fast method for direct analysis of volatile compounds (davc) of medicinal plants has been developed by holding a filament from different parts of a plant in the gc injection port. the extraction and analysis of volatile components of a small amount of plant were carried out in one-step without any sample preparation. after optimization of temperature, extraction time a...
Antioxidant, Metal Chelating, Anti-glucosidase Activities and Phytochemical Analysis of Selected Tropical Medicinal Plants
The purpose of this investigation was to determine the antioxidant potentials and anti-glucosidase activities of six tropical medicinal plants. The levels of phenolic constituents in these medicinal plants were also quantified and compared. Antioxidation potentials were determined colorimetrically for scavenging activities against DPPH and NO radicals. Metal chelating assay was based on the mea...

متن کاملAnti-hyperglycemic Activity of Four Plants Extracts Effective against Alpha Glucosidase in Normal and Diabetic Rats
Background & Aims: Postprandial hyperglycemia results in the development of chronic complications. Therefore, its control is critical in the treatment of diabetes. One of the main therapeutic approaches for reducing postprandial hyperglycemia is to reduce the absorption of carbohydrates by enzyme inhibitors such as Acarbose which have already been clinically used as a medicine for diabetic pati...
